Layout and design

We can offer a design and layout service for galleries who do not have a chosen designer. For larger galleries who have their own designer we are happy to work with the designer to achieve the required results.

Proofing

From your file, we will output hard copy high resolution proofs on our Epsom Proofer - if we are preparing the layout from your digital images and word document, we will give you a first draft as a pdf for your comments, followed by full colour proofs on hard copy.

Colour correcting

From that point images can be colour corrected and re-proofed as necessary to achieve sign-off. Our proofers are calibrated to our presses so that the final proof you see will accurately match the final printing.

Printing

Printing is done on our Heidelberg 5 colour press which can print sharp and precise images, even on thick paper stock. We are also familiar with printing on uncoated paper and have a formula to compensate for the extra 'dot gain' to give a first-rate result.

Litho or digital?

For smaller runs, where pricing is key, we can print on our digital presses. These are sophisticated machines which can bring out fine tonal difference. Digital printing was once considered to be the poor relation in print but advances in technology means that we can achieve superb results that will surprise even the purists. Please contact us for a sample.

Binding and finishing

Finishing is very important to the final 'look' of the job and we can advise on the relative merits of saddle stitching, PUR binding (the modern version of perfect binding), thread sewing, softback or hardback binding, foiling or embossing.

A complete service

We provide a first class service and will visit you to discuss your brief and deliver or collect proofs wherever necessary.

So for all aspects of design and print for galleries and museums, please call our office for advice on format, design and layout, choice of paper, treatment of images and choice of binding styles.

From straightforward greetings cards to full softback or hardback catalogues, please contact our fine art specialist Neville Rolt on 0845 520 8000, email: fineart@synergie.uk.com or visit our specialist fine art website www.synergiefineart.com
