What is Dimensional Ink?
Dimensional Ink is ink you can feel! Imagine running your hand over an image of some fruit, a piece of wood, some brickwork or a piece of clothing and have it feel just how it looks. Think of the endless opportunities it could bring to your business, how it would make you stand out from your competitors and add an extra "dimension" to any piece of printed work you produce be it business cards, leaflets, booklets, posters or anything else you can think of.
What is even better is how simple Dimensional Ink is to setup and apply, it is just like adding a 5th colour to your work, and because Dimensional Ink is added as your items are printed it is extremely fast too. Adding Dimensional Ink to your artwork takes just a few simple steps and you can begin bringing your printed material to life, the only limit is your imagination! |

How does it work?
Printing with Dimensional Ink starts by loading Kodak NexPress Dimensional Clear Dry Ink into the Fifth Imaging Unit of a NexPress Press. Dimensional Clear Dry Ink is a new dry ink that creates a clear “raised” layer on top of a page element after fusing. It can be used to enhance graphics, text, or a full color image.
The overall tactile effect is similar to thermography, but with a greater degree of control—Dimensional Coating can be set to produce variable heights, so you can more closely mimic the texture of a specific image.
However, unlike thermography, which can
only be applied to ink and not to a full page surface, you can layer an entire page with dimensional ink.
